Since the gallery's purchase,
an entirely new collection of art has been added. Still specializing
in Japanese woodblocks, we've brought in the
serene, metallic-background tree prints by Namiki, the vivid Hasui
landscapes, and dozens of other prints ranging from simple Hasegawa flowers to enticing geishas. In addition to the Japanese
woodblocks, we have added original color lithographs and 1940's magazine
pages of Alberto Vargas's paintings of the
beautiful female form which he created for Esquire and
Playboy magazines. Come in to see these new prints, as well
as framed Charles Dana Gibson lithographs, mid-nineteenth century
hand-colored Joseph Paxton botanical lithographs, John James Audubon bird
prints, and the list goes on.
In July we will begin our
monthly show of local talent. The first exhibition will be the
paintings of Jim Isakson. Jim has a unique, impressionistic style
that utilizes small dots of color to make lively compositions. Below
you will find some examples of his work, with more available at his
website, www.jimisakson.com.
Jim's work will be up for the
month of July with an opening reception the evenings of both Friday,
July 4th, and Saturday, July 5th.
