Imao Keinen (1845-1924)
 

Born in Kyoto, Keinen became a well known painter in the Japanese style. He began teaching at the Kyoto School of Painting in 1880, and later served as a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household.  Keinen was best known for his beautiful images of birds and flowers (kacho-e) during the Meiji period.
